Fitness
Fitness is essential to a healthy and long life, and a good level of fitness will mean a greater amount of things that you can do, and that you can challenge yourself to do. A certain level of fitness is necessary to perform usual tasks and activities that we need to do in our daily lives, and if this level is not sufficient then there will be problems with performing these tasks. This can be a particular problem in conjunction with being overweight or obese, as this can tend to exasperate the problem further.
It is necessary for everyone to engage in some physical activity every day, though it does not need to be as rigorous as a workout, or as time-consuming as a hike. Simply going for an hour’s walk with the dog, going swimming with friends or practising yoga each day for half an hour can make a lot of difference over a period of time. It is better to maintain a routine of exercise weekly, as it will help to keep your fitness levels standardised and will not tire you out as much as a massive workout might do.
Some people like to concentrate on an aspect of their physical fitness in conjunction with a hobby or activity, such as bodybuilding, long distance running and sprinting. These require different physical capabilities and body types, which can be worked on with exercises and training specifically related to the sport or activity.
